You are God’s Masterpiece

Ephesians 2:10 says (in the New King James Version) “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”  In the English Standard Version it says the exact same thing except for the punctuation being a little different.  I’m certainly not a Bible scholar, but let’s break down the verse phrase by phrase that maybe we can understand it better.  For a little background the preceding verses, specifically verses 8 & 9, are quite well known.  Those two verses talk about how we are saved by faith and not by works.  All we have to do is believe in God and have faith that Jesus died and raised from the dead to be saved from our sins.  This is a gift from God by His grace on us.  We can do nothing to earn salvation.  We simply need to accept His gift and believe.
